There has been much talk and speculation over the last few days about Brett Favre possibly coming out of retirement. Favre announced his retirement a few months ago, and the Packers promptly moved on, even drafting a QB where they may not have before. The Aaron Rodgers era had begun. But then Favre never filed his papers, and has been talking not only to the Packers, but to a few other teams about coming back. Dude.....EA-SY. We know you have a competitive itch and maybe your announcement was premature, but give us all a break and stay retired. It wouldn't be fair to Rodgers or the Packers if you pulled a stunt like this, and it may not be fair to whoever you'd bump out of a job on any other team. I'm a big fan of "say you're retiring, then retire."
Meanwhile, we were treated to maybe the greatest Wimbledon final ever yesterday...an epic match between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer that went five sets and lasted about seven hours in all through two rain delays, with Nadal finally beating his nemesis on grass. Really, with the Giants' Super Bowl win, the Celtics' NBA championship, and Tiger's incredible U.S. Open victory, we've been lucky to be sports fans lately. And now we can start turning our attention to what we came here for...football!
